Menya Shi Shi Do almost always tops the list when it comes to recommending good ramen in the Klang Valley. Previously opened in Jaya One, now they have moved to a new location, the store is bigger, the decor is beautiful, and the noodles are still full of flavor and punch!

Menya Musashi 麵屋武藏
Menya Musashi is a go-to spot for anyone who has a hankering for ramen. The broth is fragrant and full of flavour. Plus, you get to select from one of its flavoured oils, which adds to the soups’ tastiness.
The restaurants can rack up quite a queue, so I’d suggest visiting them at non-peak hours if you’re not in the mood to wait.

Bari Uma Ramen
Located in a previously collapsed building, Jaya Shopping Center, comes a new addition to a line of ramen restaurants. Serving homemade noodles with delicious and creamy broth with most of the ingredients scouted by the owner himself. Furthermore, the pork loin offered here isn’t merely just a pork loin. Instead, it’s a Spanish-type that has a higher level of fat that allows that “melt-in-the-mouth” experience with ease.

IPPUDO
What makes ramen great isn’t just the broth but the quality of the noodles, which is what IPPUDO gets just right.
Known as one of the more famous tonkotsu ramen shops in Japan, IPPUDO has outlets all over the world. It opened its first outlet in Malaysia back in 2013 and has since grown to have several branches in the country.

Also by the folks behind Menya Shi-Shi Do, Ramen Bar Shi Shi Do is a new kid in town, having just opened its doors in Gasket Alley, PJ this month! This new eatery has a vibe that’s much different from the humble restaurant in Jaya One – meticulously designed and decorated, you’ll feel as if you’re stepping into an authentic izakaya (informal Japanese bar) in Japan with the restaurant’s quaint, retro vibe.

Just like Menya Hanabi, Mitsuyado Seimen challenges your normal expectations of a hot bowl of ramen cooked in flavourful broth. The restaurant specializes instead in tsukemen, a specialty ramen dish that was invented in 1961 by a restaurateur in Tokyo, Japan.

Tomo Ramen Bar has established itself as a well-loved ramen spot in Klang Valley with its cosy, warm, and inviting atmosphere. Located in Damansara Uptown, the ramen bar is decked with a super cute entrance, neon lights, and comfortable seating, and serves a unique miso soy milk ramen that’s not commonly found on the menu of other ramen restaurants.
Expect a well-balanced, milky, slightly sweet broth paired with al-dente noodles, chashu pork belly, nori, wood ear fungus, scallions, and a soft boiled egg. A must-try if you like the taste of soy milk! If you’re hesitant to try it out, you can also order a good old bowl of tonkotsu ramen.

Menya Hanabi 麺屋はなび
Unlike the typical broth-based ramens, Menya Hanabi has particularly raved for its mazesoba (dry ramen). One reviewer said in the Malaysian context, it can be likened to something similar to chili pan mee but it’s less coarse.
